Why RP?

  • Welfare of exchange students is taken into consideration.
  • It offers advice and support at parties in order to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • It develops a positive public image with the media, other organisations and the city you are based in.
  • It improves relations with your university, International Relations Office and Students’ Union by demonstrating the considerate behaviour of your section towards the students and the local community.
  • It is about making all parties responsible and promoting a more healthy and considerate approach towards alcohol consumption.

Aim?

  • The goal of the project is to raise awareness among students on responsible drinking and to contribute to the reduction of excessive and inappropriate consumption of alcohol among young adults.
  • The project is composed of prevention and information tools so that students can make responsible decisions when they decide to party and drink alcohol.
  • The main aims of the project are: moderate consumption, don't drink and drive, don't imitate your friends, eat before the party, alternate alcoholic drinks and soft beverages.

It's about smart and simple tips helping you and your friends to really enjoy the party:

  • making the night last longer while staying in good shape;
  • avoiding excessive drinking and its dangerous consequences;
  • situations you would regret... YOU NAME IT!

What is Responsible Party?

The Responsible Party project is a pan-European activity of the Erasmus Student Network in cooperation with Pernod Ricard. In answer to recently published studies examining alcohol consumption habits (binge drinking) of the European youth, Responsible Party has the aim to promote a more conscious drinking behaviour among young people.

The contract between ESN and Pernod Ricard was signed on June 21st 2010 by the two organisations and it showed the general willingness of ESN to support this programme, which is about students having fun and partying, but in a safe way; also creating healthier attitudes, and avoiding problems of drunkenness, alcohol poisoning, and assaults. Over the years the programme has been successfully introduced in a multitude of countries reaching over 280 000 students since 2010.

This stems from millions of hours spent celebrating, dancing, socializing and maybe more importantly: creating memories. It is carried out by ensuring that students are educated about alcohol consumption, which provides them with the knowledge to make responsible decisions concerning drinking and partying. By doing so we ensure that they seize the moment and enjoy life to the fullest, even beyond partying.
