Održana je radionica Community management on the national level.

During the last week of August, National Boards Training was held in Burgas, Bulgaria. Over the course of 4 days, volunteers holding positions on national levels of Erasmus Student Network had the opportunity to meet in person, work on their skills, develop new ones and discuss important aspects of our Network. Two of ESN Croatia’s volunteers, Vice President and Communication Manager, attended the event and brought home a lot of new experiences and motivation for their future work.

Thursday was reserved for arrivals. Local volunteers from Bulgaria held a short city tour for participants where they were divided in a few groups and had the task to follow the clues and take photos at specific locations around the city. It was a fun way for them to get to know each other and connect from the start.

On Friday the event officially began. They immediately discussed what it means to be a National Board member through group activities. A workshop called Community management on the national level was held. Among other things, the participants had to describe the ideal community manager and in pairs discuss their problems and questions about community management.

On Saturday they analysed the Network's internal and external aspects by conducting a SWOT analysis. One of the workshops held was Strategy 101 and each person left the room after the workshop amazed by what they had just learned. They created a vision for an imaginary ESN association, and then steps in which they plan on making it come true. Other than that, they went deeper and shared visions of themselves, so the workshop had an impact on their personal growth as well. Another workshop was Applying for your first Erasmus+ KA2 grant - almost everything you need to know, the participants learned about everything necessary to apply a project for the funds from Erasmus+ program's Key Action 2. After initial instructions, volunteers were divided in random groups, and every group had to create a concept of a project. Some had it better, some had it worse, but in the end, everyone came out with fresh ideas. In the evening a Slav party was held so our volunteers felt like home, you can check out their outfits in the photo below.

On Sunday the volunteers had an interesting task to reorganise the whole communication within our Network on the international level in an imaginary situation where we wake up one day and none of our current communication ways exist anymore. They had to present their solutions in 5 minutes in the form of an elevator pitch. The whole event ended with an Open space session where everyone had the chance to participate in a few discussions that volunteers suggested and share their points of view. Of course, the Appreciation round for the Organising Committee and International Board of ESN AISBL was not forgotten, where a few tears were shed after such a productive, but very fun, weekend.

Members of ESN Croatia’s National Board came home full of motivation and once again reminded of how much all the effort and time you put into volunteering pays off with memories and experiences like this one.
