Ovog travnja, ESN Rijeka imala je priliku ugostiti volontere Erasmus studentske mreže diljem Hrvatske na okrugloj, 20. skupštini ove organizacije. Volonteri iz svih lokalnih podružnica naše organizacije - Čakovca, Dubrovnika, Osijeka, Rijeke, Splita, Zadra i Zagreba - imali su priliku okupiti se kako bi razmijenili dobre prakse i ideje koje provode u svojim gradovima.
Volonteri su imali prilike družiti se i upoznati mlade ljude s istim i sličnim interesima te ono najbitnije - raspraviti sve načine na koje ova Mreža može pomoći internacionalnim studentima u Hrvatskoj i tako pridonijeti slici naše zemlje i naših sveučilišta kao poželjnih destinacija za studijsku mobilnost.
Ova je Nacionalna platforma, također bila iznimno posebna, ne samo zato što je bila okrugla, već i jer je prvi puta u povijesti naše Mreže u Hrvatskoj većim dijelom održana na engleskom jeziku. Uz to, Predsjedavajući tim na Platformi činili su volonteri naše organizacije iz Nizozemske i Belgije te su svojom prisutnošću dodatno obogatili ovu, zbilja posebnu, Platformu.
Sama Rijeka počastila je naše volontere suncem, a njezini domaćini proveli su kolege po kampusu Sveučilišta te po glavnim mjestima u gradu, a s njima su proslavili i svoj 10. rođendan.
Na Samoj Platformi pričalo se o dosadašnjem radu Organizacije te je Predsjedništvo, kao i njegovo Vijeće Vanjskih suradnika iznijelo svoja izvješća o radu te obavijesti o napretku projekata na kojima rade. Uz to, Predsjednici lokalnih podružnica iznijeli su svoja izvješća o radu i napretku svojih volontera i samih podružnica te se pohvalili dobrim praksama i projektima u svojim gradovima.
Jedna od takvih upravo je i splitska podružnica koju je Europski parlament (Ured u Hrvatskoj) ove godine nominirao za prestižnu nagradu “Karlo Veliki” 2022 za projekt Europska Cooltura+.
Osim izvješća o radu, razglabalo se tu o promjenama pravnih dokumenata naše Organizacije koje su predložili Predsjedništvo te ESN Split. Tako od travnja i svibnja ove godine imamo nekoliko novih pozicija na nacionalnoj razini za koje se naši volonteri mogu prijaviti - Menadžera aktivnosti, operacija, Asistenta Komunikacijskom menadžeru te HR menadžera, sve u svrhu modernizacije naše Mreže i olakšavanja rada kako Predsjedništvu ESN-a Hrvatska, tako i Predsjedništvima lokalnih podružnica.
Na Platformi smo također imali priliku čuti i nove kandidature za Predsjedništvo za iduću akademsku godinu 22./23. Tako smo odabrali naše volonterke iz Rijeke, Zagreba i Zadra kao dio novo Predsjedništva, na pozicijama Tajnice, Komunikacijske menadžerice i Predstavnice za obrazovanje.
Da se ne bi samo razgovaralo o ozbiljnim stvarima, naš nam je Predsjedavajući tim pripremio nekoliko zabavnih, zanimljivih i interaktivnih radionica o različitim područjima kako bi se naši volonteri mogli educirati. Bile su tu radionice o liderstvu, zagovaračkim vrijednostima i resursima koje Erasmus studentska mreža ima i postiže u području mobilnosti te IT-ju. Uz to, neki od naših volontera držali su radionice o motivaciji kao bitnom aspektu volontiranja, samoreprezentaciji i prijenosu znanja među volonterima.
Jedna od bitnijih stvari Platforme bila je i predstavljanje Priručnika o mobilnosti. Naime, ESN Hrvatska naporno je i predano radila na stvaranju dokumenta koji bi na jednom mjestu prikupio sve vrste mobilnosti na koje se mladi mogu prijaviti te uz to sve informacije o prijavama, financiranju, iskustvima i sl. Za ovaj je projekt ESN Hrvatska također bio nominiran za ESN Awards - nagrade koje Erasmus studentska mreža dodjeljuje svojim volonterima diljem Europe.
Na kraju ove kratke avanture, zahvalilo se volonterima ESN-a Rijeka na njihovom iznimnom trudu i radu da svoje kolege ugoste na najbolji mogući način. Zahvalilo se i samim volonterima cijele Mreže na njihovom aktivnom i predanom radu.
ESN Hrvatska trudi se i nastavit će se truditi doprinijeti ovoj Mreži proaktivnih mladih ljudi na svim svojim razinama te pomoći internacionalnim studentima najbolje što može. U narednim godinama ova Organizacija planira se proširiti van Europe te će, gledajući nove ciljeve Erasmus+ programa za 2021 do 2027., postati još relevantnija u temama mobilnosti, a i popularnija među mladima kao jedan od oblika aktivnog građanstva i zalaganja za politike i prava mladih Europske Unije, ali i šire.

20th National Assembly of ESN Croatia
This April, ESN Rijeka had the opportunity to host volunteers from Erasmus Student Network Croatia at the 20th Assembly of this Organization. Volunteers from all local associations of our Organization - Čakovec, Dubrovnik, Osijek, Rijeka, Split, Zadar and Zagreb - had the opportunity to gather in order to exchange good practices and ideas implemented in their cities and universities.
Volunteers had the opportunity to socialize and meet young people with the same and similar interests, and the most important thing - discuss all the ways in which this Network can help international students in Croatia and thus contribute to the image of our country and our universities as desirable destinations for student mobility.
This National Platform was also extremely special, not only because it was the 20th, but also because for the first time in the history of our Network in Croatia, it was mostly held in English. In addition, the Chairing Team on the Platform consisted of volunteers from our Organization from the Netherlands and Belgium, and with their presence they further enriched this, really special, Platform.
Rijeka blessed our volunteers with sunny weather and its hosts took their colleagues around the University campus and around the main places in the city. They also celebrated ESN Rijeka’s 10th birthday with them.
On the Platform itself, the work of the Organization was discussed. Our National Board (Presidency), as well as its Board Support, presented their work reports and information on the progress of the projects they are working on. In addition, the Presidents of local associations presented their reports on the work and progress of their volunteers and the associations themselves, discussed good practices and projects in their cities.
One of these is ESN Split, which the European Parliament (Office in Croatia) nominated this year for the prestigious European Youth Charlemagne Prize of Aachen award for the European Cooltura+ project.
In addition to the work report, changes to the legal documents of our Organization proposed by the National Board and ESN Split were discussed. So, from April and May of this year we have several new positions at the national level for which our volunteers can apply - positions include Manager of Activities, Operations, Vice Communication Manager and HR Manager, all for the purpose of modernizing our Network and facilitating the work of our National Board, as well as all Local Boards.
At the Platform, we also had the opportunity to hear new candidacies for the National Board for the next academic year 22/23. That is how we selected our volunteers from Rijeka, Zagreb and Zadar as part of the new Board in the positions of Treasurer, Communication Manager and Education Officer.
We did not only discuss serious matters - our Chairing Team has prepared for us several fun, interesting and interactive workshops on different areas so that our volunteers can be educated. There were workshops on leadership, advocacy and external representation and IT. In addition, some of our volunteers held workshops on motivation as an important aspect of volunteering, self-representation and transfer of knowledge among volunteers.
One of the most important aspects of the Platform was the presentation of the Mobility Handbook. Over the course of last year, ESN Croatia worked hard on creating a document that would collect in one place all types of mobility that young people can apply for, as well as all the information about applications, financing, experiences, etc. ESN Croatia was also, for this project, nominated for the ESN Awards that the Erasmus Student Network gives to its volunteers across Europe.
At the end of this short adventure, the volunteers of ESN Rijeka were thanked for their exceptional effort and work to host their colleagues in the best possible way. The volunteers of the entire Network were also thanked for their active and dedicated work.
ESN Croatia strives and will continue to strive to contribute to this Network of proactive young people at all levels and help international students in Croatia the best it can. In the coming years, this Organization plans to expand outside of Europe and, looking at the new goals of the Erasmus+ program for 2021 to 2027, will become even more relevant in mobility topics, as well as more popular among young people as a form of active citizenship and advocating for the policies and rights of young people in the European Union , but also wider.
